The Evolution Of Today s Dirt Bike
The evolution of off-road motorcycles, commonly called dirt bikes, is a long and complicated story The first motorcycles were actually nothing more than modified bicycles with attached gasoline engines These powered bicycles were amazing inventions in their day Unreliable, but amazing methods of transportation, these motorcycles began captivating people across the globe Since paved streets were not quite the norm at the time, motorcycles generally could be considered dirt bikes right from the start No single person or company has been credited with the invention of the dirt bike Off-road motorcycling is really an evolution of many years, with better tires, better suspension and seats, stronger frames, and better control features being credited to many individuals who were essentially modifying their own bikes for better off-road use Triumph motorcycles did however design a motorcycle specifically built for dirt riding in 1914, although this model is not actually credited with being the first dirt bike . .Motocross racing seems to have had it origins in Europe, very possibly France with these early motorcycles being raced through wooded trails or racing to the top of a mountainous road for publicity Many of these early races were not races of speed but races against time where riders simply competed against each other on an individual basis Racing expanded as did the production of motorcycles to include scrambles and cross country events which excited and entertained spectators Incidentally, the word motocross was derived from the words motorcycle and cross-country The races would eventually be moved to a shorter, closed track for easier viewing by the spectators and better monitoring of the racers themselves With the world at war and the Great Depression, off-road motorcycles may not have been a priority concept with people for many years but the interest in dirt racing wasn’t about to go away Then Soichiro Honda came along in 1946 with his idea to produce cheap transportation for people after the second world war Honda became the most predominant name in motorcycles and dirt bikes in particular, undoubtedly due to the fact that they are the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world They were joined by other manufacturers over the years who would eventually become household names as well Suzuki produced their first motorcycle in 1954, Yamaha in 1955, and Kawasaki in 1960 Although dirt bikes were still far in the future for the big four, this was the beginning of the onslaught of a motorsport unlike any other Dirt bikes and dirt bike racing would eventually become one of the most popular motorsports in the world . . .After a mix of both two stroke and four stroke motors in various models through the years, Honda finally designs and builds a competitive two stroke motocross motor in 1972 It reached the USA in 1973 and is called the Elsinore CR250 It immediately becomes the fastest production off-road race bike in its class and placed Honda alone at the top of the heap in regard to motocross racing In the 1970’s, motocross racing would finally do what motorcycle manufacturers hoped it would Off-road motorcycling would become a recreational activity not unlike bicycling with its popularity exploding among the general public The big four Japanese manufacturers would eventually produce a full product line of dirt bikes in a variety of sizes for various racing classes and ages Children’s dirt bikes would become available for those early starters and dual-use motorcycles would also become available with dirt tires and suspension along with street-legal features Other manufacturers also joined the specialized dirt bike market including Maico, Gas Gas, and KTM . .To this day, dirt bikes continue their evolution with almost constant improvement in weight reduction, suspension, engine reliability, and overall performance They are used as weekend recreational vehicles by millions of people around the world The world of motocross racing has become more popular than ever before thanks to dirt bike riding basically evolving into an art form Freestyle riding and stunt riding are captivating more young riders every year and the manufacturers continue to respond by producing high quality, cutting edge dirt bikes .
Source: www.rsstnx.com

Why Do We Ride Motorcycles
I bought my first motorcycle in 1967 It was shortly after my sister’s boyfriend showed up at our house on a brand new Triumph Bonneville My bike was not quite as spectacular The used Allstate 59 scooter had a 3 speed shift on the left side of the handlebar and that classic 2 stroke whine That bike set the hook though, and since then it has been followed by 31 more bikes I have ridden through most of the eastern states and provinces I have continued on in rain, snow, heat and cold I tend to fall often in the woods and have memories and scars from some of the better ones Why do we do it? . .More than 95% of my riding has been alone I like to go where I want to and stop when I want to I feel I do some of my best thinking while riding I am relaxed and focused on riding conditions I tend to let my mind go where it wants to rather than force it in any particular direction This is the opposite of what happens most of the time We are conditioned to think about our challenges and possible solutions The mind actually works better if you give it a problem to solve and go on to something else When I take off on Saturday morning, I have already spent the week thinking about the various challenges in my life It is amazing how often some type of solution pops into my head when I am two hours from home and thinking about lunch . .How many times have you sat on the curb in the parking lot of a distant gas station having a cool drink and watching the world go by? In the normal course of your like, would you do that? Maybe we put up with the discomfort and inconvenience of riding long distances because it allows us to slow down and ponder If that is all there is to it then it is enough for me I think there is more Let me know what you think .
Source: www.rsstnx.com

Leather Motorcycle Accessories As Protective Gear
Motorcycle accessories are a broad term and include items from protective gear up to stuff that make your motorcycle move faster Leather accessories usually include just (protective) gear, clothes and luggage items that you use when you ride It depends on the type of bike you own what type of leather motorcycle accessories you’ll need But it also depends on how much you ride, if you ride all year round or just in summer and of course it depends on your budget . .To be honest there are leather accessories for every budget and with online auction sites these days you can also buy second hand gear If you are a typical weekend only rider on a small budget that might be a very good option Its better to safe money then to see your expensive motorcycle accessories sit around unused . .On the other side if you are the type of bike rider that likes to show of their bike and gear and takes pride in complementary style bike and leather accessories then there is also enough to enjoy In that case it does not matter if you are a frequent rider or if you like to show what you own you need the very best quality stuff . .If your the kind of motorcycle rider that rides often and in many different types of weather then you should look for motorcycle accessories made out of leather that will protect you like safety gear, helmets and gloves because your life could depend on durable and reliable gear . .Leather motorcycle accessories for beginners . .Most people who just have bought their first bike get carried away and would like to buy all of the motorcycle accessories they see and like Most of the time this is not the the best choice they can make because your tastes and knowledge will grow when you ride more However, there are several accessories that you will need immediately and that you should purchase right away . .Wear a helmet at all times, this is an absolute must There are states that don’t have a helmet law, but it’s essential that you do wear one A helmet will protect your head and face from the trauma that usually occurs with a crash Without a helmet a crash can cause extensive damage, even at slow speed, so it is necessary to wear a helmet at all time Luckily there are great leather helmets available, some will look kind of retro but will have the latest protective technology underneath . .Another essential motorcycle accessories is the leather jacket, it’s not just to look cool, it also protects you from the elements while you are riding and from the damage in case of a crash You are completely exposed on a bike, so you need to protect yourself when riding . .The last leather accessories that are essential are a good pair of gloves that will keep your hands protected from the elements and help you keep a strong grip Leather gloves often overlooked because many people don’t believe they need them In fact they are essential to help keep you safe and on the road . .As you see there are many leather motorcycle accessories that you’ll need and there will be even more that you want to add as you become more experienced, but as a beginner these three are the most important You can buy new gear or you can look online for used motorcycle accessories made out of leather This can safe you a lot of money and because it is leather it will even look better when it is used Just make sure that it is in good condition .
Source: www.rsstnx.com

Trike Kits To Make Your Motorcycle Safer And More Comfortable
Have you been through the stage of wanting to buy a motorcycle and then found that you are worried whether you will feel safe riding one? Or perhaps you have even bought one and are now too frightened about taking it out on the road Whatever your case may be, whether you have the motorcycle or not, you can buy motorcycle trikes or trike kits to give you the stability and safety that you are lacking when you have to ride the motorcycle by itself . .Motorcycle trikes put together the best parts of riding a bike like feeling the wind in your face and the feeling of added stability and safety that you get while driving a car You can also maneuver motorcycles with trike kits through limited space better than you would be able a car or other kind of four wheeled vehicle In more ways than one, these machines give you the ideal compromise between a motorcycle and a car Like on a motorcycle, you can continue to get the thrill of riding one . . .You can ride with extra safety and stability that the extra wheels of the trike kits bring you and you also get extra storage since the vehicle gets that much bigger If you have been postponing your decision about buying one of the motorcycle trikes then think again You may be thinking that the trike is very much outdated But the modern trike is quite different from its predecessors It is not only great to look at and stylish but it gives you additional stability and safety that the motorcycle on its own does not give you In fact the trike has become a status symbol today . .Another difference between the modern trikes and the old ones is that the new ones are more like bikes in appearance rather than like cars That is they are less enclosed, making you feel the rush of the wind in your face as you speed on the motorcycle trikes with your friends Also, the trike kits that you get today give you much better performance as compared to the trikes of the past which were indeed extremely slow . .Given that the motorcycle trikes give you great performance, are fashionable to look at and great where safety is concerned, it is not at all surprising that more and more people are looking to buy trike kits So if you want to still feel like a biker even though you might be afraid to ride a motorcycle, you can choose one of the trike conversion kits and add it to your motorcycle and hit the road without having to worry about your safety You can join other bikers and traverse up and down the country roads which will give you great pleasure .
Source: www.rsstnx.com

Ebike @Rs 10000 upwards
May I take the opportunity to introduce ourselves as promoters of E-bike in India under the name of E-bike India Pvt Ltd, a pioneer company in import and assembly of battery operated cycles. You will appreciate that this concept is brand new in India and shall change the way we commute in a massive fashion especially for marketing, delivery, office work or even simply for leisure. The bike is the same as used on the road except that the conversion takes place to a motorized version which uses battery for its power including recharge each day. Thus there is no fatigue, noise, pollution or utilization of petrol as a source of energy. The turnaround of the bike is upto 45 Km, speed 25 Km and the rider can yet pedal if one so wishes. As an Industrialist, Factory Owner or Retail Businessman, you will appreciate that your workers get sapped of their energy before even arriving for work besides getting delayed through a long haul of pedaling. Just imagine them being possessed of a scooter without worry of petrol or pollution. You shall be further content to note that Battery Operated Vehicles (BOV’s) are being promoted in a big way through assistance by the government in the shape of total exemption of Sale Tax due to depleting sources of oil energy. The cost of E-bike ranges between Rs. 9500.00 to Rs. 12500.00, a very affordable venture for lower strata and with subsidy and or installments through their respective owners, can indeed become very lucrative for the user.
Source: www.ArticlePros.com

Personal scooters are not just for fun
Personal scooters are a highly valuable mobility tool for those who, for health reasons, are unable to move around in public or in their own homes. They can ease the burden of having to carry things like heavy groceries or other personal effects. In this sense they can also help people who have back problems and strains. Progresses in technology have made scooters more energy efficient, faster, lighter and more reliable, which means that there are plenty of attractive options available to you should you ever need to purchase one. For those with a disability, scooters are an essential transportation device. One of the best things is that, if you are eligible, Medicare can cover some or all of the cost for a personal scooter. To be eligible, however you should meet the following guidelines: 1.You need a scooter to move around your home. 2.You are unable to operate a manual wheelchair. 3.Your doctor prescribes a scooter for your personal use. Please contact your Doctor and ask if you are eligible to receive government aid for a personal scooter. There is now a huge diversity of scooters available worldwide. You will first need to decide which type of scooter best fits your needs and your budget. Perhaps the most important factor when deciding to buy a new scooter is to make sure it is comfortable. You will be using it a lot and it is best to make sure you are comfortable in your new little vehicle. Not all scooters are created equal and it is important to find one which suits your body type and sense of style. Scooters come in all shapes, sizes, weights, and colors. Some scooters are even ultra light-weight so conveniently they are able to fold up into small packages meaning they can be carried virtually anywhere. This feature is great for people who have difficulty getting around generally but still have enough mobility to get around on public transport. Most carry-on scooter units are fairly easy to carry and some even weigh under 50 lbs. If you are looking for this type of scooter, make sure you are able to carry it around with you. Scooters designed specifically for the elderly are now more and more common and they are a great solution for people who have trouble moving around the house. Scooters are a good solution in many circumstances as they are able to be driven around without having to rely on someone else to power them. Think about how inconvenient it is sometimes for people in non motorized wheelchairs to have to rely on a pusher at times. Scooters are convenient and highly personal. Accessories can also enhance a scooter. Rear view mirrors, extra batteries, extra pouches, and headlights can all be purchased for your scooter. You can almost add anything you need - it just depends on your personal scooter requirements.Darren Safrin is the owner of AtoZ Scooters which is a premier source of information about Scooters.

Why I Like Classic Car & Cycle People!
While watching the TV news, I was appalled at how many people can’t just get along, to quote Rodney King. It is truly a very sad situation. Then I thought about all the different types of people we have at our event and how well they all get along. In the 18 years we have been doing our events, we have never had any trouble with the participants at our shows. Bikers, Low Riders, Classic Cars, Hot Rodders, Sports Cars types and Tuner owners, they all attend our classic car & cycle show and all of them have a great time. Don’t get me wrong, they all have different likes and dislikes, but they are tolerant of their fellow gear heads. The world could learn a lot from Gear Heads! Learn to appreciate the other person’s point of view. Low Riders always draw a crowd when they put their vehicles through their “dance”. Now I’m not at all interested in having a car that hops, but I sure can appreciate the work and engineering that goes into allowing thousands of pounds of Chevy to bounce six feet off the ground. I also don’t want a car with 1000 horsepower with a blower sticking out of the hood. but I sure do enjoy checking out those types of cars at the car shows. The way I see it, we are all different and we should revel in these differences not curse them. Diversity makes the world an interesting and fun place to live in. It’s a shame that some people feel its either their way or the highway. Whether its religion, politics or drive trains, we all need to love our neighbors and that which makes them unique. If the world was made of Classic Car and Cycle People, what a wonderful place it would be! See Ya There!

Street Bikes and Fuel Economy
The street bike is often viewed as a recreational toy, a luxury afforded to those with the two-wheeled fever Street bikes are also associated with the daredevil, the person who lives on the edge and takes life one day at a time The reality however, is miles away from here Street bikes are ridden by individuals from all walks of life including professionals like doctors and lawyers for example The old stereotype of law breaking rebels and individuals who do not respect their own livelihood has begun to fade . .A new era in the age of environmental abuse and overpriced fuels has begun Riding a street bike for reasons such as fuel economy and reliability are taking hold around the world An economical street bike can be safely navigate through city streets, country roads, and interstate highways Prime examples are a trip to the store and transportation to and from work, the practical use of street bikes is rising at record rates Generally speaking, street bike accidents and fatalities typically draw more media attention than serious injuries and fatalities in other types of motor vehicles Because of this, the street bike is still considered dangerous by many non-riders, although it is finally beginning to emerge as a viable means of low-cost transportation . .According to the most recent figures released from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the average gas mileage for new vehicles sold in the USA averages about 24 7 mpg This includes all vehicles from economy cars to full-size standard pickup trucks The motorcycle however varies greatly proportionately with the engine size Street bike engines range from 250cc to 1800cc therefore fuel use can range anywhere between 37 miles per gallon on the low end to as much as 65 miles per gallon on the high end The size, design, and configuration of the engines greatly affects overall fuel economy Differences in street bike engine design include liquid cooled or air cooled engines as well as single, two, or four cylinder configurations The phenomenal fuel savings of motorcycle travel versus car and truck travel is overshadowed by two very important factors, safety and comfort . .Beside exposure to other motorists as well as the roadway and the increased safety risk involved in riding a street bike, other elements can reduce the practicality of motorcycle travel Weather is of course the number one negative factor It is no fun, nor is it comfortable to ride in the rain The decreased visibility coupled with the soggy discomfort of wet clothing makes for dismal travel Air temperature can also play a part in the motorcyclist’s discomfort Temperatures above 90 degrees and below 50 degrees are not ideal for riding a street bike Higher temperatures also introduce the tendency to wear less clothing which can be catastrophic in the event of an accident Other negatives when comparing street bikes to cars and trucks would be limited capability for carrying passengers as well as carrying cargo Road hazards such as potholes and loose gravel and debris can be far more critical to a street motorcycle than to four wheeled motor vehicles also . .Although there are some downsides to riding a street bike versus an average economy car, more and more people are putting on the helmets and giving the two-wheeled experience a try The allure of open air travel combined with a real value per mile in terms of gas mileage are enough to continue to attract new riders into the world of street bikes .
Source: www.rsstnx.com
